About the collection

For many, Fripp Island is more than a place on a map – it’s a collection of memories, traditions, and feelings that are hard to put into words.

My family’s story with Fripp began in 1966 when my grandfather was stationed at the Naval Hospital in Beaufort, SC. What began as day trips and summers renting on the island eventually led to my grandparents building a beach house on Tarpon Boulevard. Nearly sixty years later, four generations of our family still gather at everyone’s favorite stretch of beach each summer.

The idea for this puzzle first took shape around the kitchen table –fittingly, while we were in the middle of piecing together another puzzle. What began as a simple idea became a true family collaboration with each generation helping capture the details that make Fripp so special –inspired by days spent crabbing and fishing in the creeks, collecting seashells, swimming at the pools, and enjoying everything the island has to offer.

So while Fripp may not be easy to put into words, it was surprisingly easy – and fun – to piece together on a map. We partnered with Lowcountry artist Leah Guest Hughes to bring that vision to life – creating a keepsake designed to be enjoyed together and returned to, year after year. A celebration of a place where families and friends gather, traditions are passed down, and wildlife is just as much at home as we are.
